Ancient Theater of Corinth


The large Theater of Corinth. Traces (late 5th century BC) relating to construction with a wooden stage, and there are ruins stonemason scene of the 3rd BC century. At the beginning of the 3rd AD century the orchestra turned into arena.To Roman theater is located in the northwest part of the ancient Corinth and market north of the Roman conservatory. The theater was rebuilt in the footsteps of an older, the first building phase belongs to the late 5th century. During the early Hellenistic period the hollow expanded its capacity is estimated to reach at about 18,000 spectators. The theater has a total of eight construction phases.
